Chemical Peeling

Chemical Peels consist of the application of a liquid chemical solution on the skin in order to cause a controlled injury of the epidermis and dermis, eliminating the superficial skin layers and improving the appearance and texture of the skin.

Depending on the depth of the lesion that is intended to be achieved, there are several types of acid and alkaline formulations.

The deeper the technique the better the results, however the greater the likelihood of complications, namely alteration of cutaneous coloration and scar areas. Thus, a more conservative approach results in faster healing with less risk and less recovery time.

The main benefits of chemical peels include:

  • Reduction of acne scars
  • Cellular skin renewal
  • Scar attenuation
  • Reduction of age or sun spots
  • Attenuation of wrinkles and expression lines
  • Hydration
